Hot Tub Winterization 101:
Did you know? If you winterize your hot tub, water can still get in through the hot tub cover clips? Using a spa cover cap prevents this. Come on in, we’ll explain how to use it and can help you avoid any damage to your spa this winter.
Hot Tub Filters 101:
How often should you change your hot tub filter? If you use your spa regularly it should be changed every 3-6 months. We carry filters of all sizes, give us a call or stop in and we’ll make sure you have what you need for a clean and well running hot tub.
Cloudy Hot Tub 101:
Help my hot tub water is cloudy! We hear this often. First, test your total alkalinity and spa sanitizer. A high alkalinity can cause cloudy water. Too little sanitizer will cause cloudiness. We recommend shocking your hot tub on a regular basis. Come on in, we stock high quality spa chemicals AND we explain how to use them and answer your questions. You don’t get that at a big box store.
Heating Your Spa 101:
How long does it take to heat the spa up? Our spas that are hooked up 220V will heat up approximately 6-8 degrees/hour. Spas hooked up 110V will heat up approximately 1-2 degrees/hour.
Cleaning Your Hot Tub 101:
Detergent residue and dissolved solids from chemical use will make it more difficult to keep the water balanced, therefore, it is recommended to clean the spa every 3 or 4 months. Locate the drain on the corner panel, hook up the garden hose and drain. Use a mild soap and water solution and a soft sponge to clean the spa shell. Rinse well and shop vac out before refilling. Hydrotherapy, by definition, is the use of water to relieve discomfort and promote physical well-being. Viking Spas uses jet streams to massage the body to reduce stress, sooth joint and muscle pain, and is used by rehabilitation specialists to help their patients.

Ozone Purification System 101:
Another common question we're asked: What is the Ozone Purification System? The Answer: The ozone generator converts oxygen (O2) to ozone (O3), and then infuses with the water of the spa. The addition of this extra oxygen molecule kills bacteria and organic compounds reducing the amount of chemicals needed to keep your spa clean.
The Cost of Running a Hot Tub 101:
According to Hot Tub Bob, the cost is roughly $.35-$1.00 per day. Keep in mind, this depends on how often you run the jets, lights, filtering, etc. This is just an estimate. Give us a call or stop in and we'll answer any other questions you have.
